No, I’m not talking about dropping your food. But, if you’ve read Mel Robbins’ book, *The 5 Second Rule*, you already know what I’m referring to.The 5-second rule refers to the window of time you have to do something from the moment that the idea comes to you until you talk yourself out of it. We often let the inspiration to do or say something pass because it’s easier and allows us to live in our comfort zone. The 5-second rule encourages you to just DO it, instead of thinking about it (and coming up with justifications for why not to do it!). So, go ahead and compliment that stranger, jump out of bed and start your day right when you wake up, or speak up in that meeting. This is a surefire way to #ignitechange!Do you have an essential oil that jolts you into action? ...

A few quick stats:* Adding 150 minutes of walking in a week can add 3.4 years to a person’s lifespan (Everydayhealth, 2015)* Walking can boost creativity by up to 60% (ACE, 2015)* Walking improves mental well-being; physically active people have a 30% reduced risk of becoming depressed (Walkingforhealth)* Research has found that a 15-minute walk reduces sweet cravings (Harvard)I have found that pairing walking with other things I love, like talking with a friend or listening to an audiobook, are great motivators. I try to get in at least 20 minutes of walking every day, and up that to 40-60 minutes at least twice a week. And taking a walk is one of my favorite ways to relieve stress or other pent-up emotions, yet another benefit!#ignitechange ...

These are some of the main areas that folks new to oils are looking to address - pain, sleep, stress, focus, and immunity. There are a variety of oils that can be used for each of these, including some that utilize just the oils in your starter kit. But I thought I'd share these here for anybody looking for a new idea. Each of these are tried and true to work for many people. If you are looking for a new option in any of these areas, give these a try.#backtobasics ...

Arborvitae is lovely in the diffuser. It is potent, though, so you may want to start with only 1 drop even in the recipes below that call for 2. You can always add a second drop after you try it out for several minutes. One of our customers shared at the continuing education class this week that she's been diffusing simply one drop of Arborvitae in her diffuser - nothing else added - and finding that it provides clarity and is energizing. Have you diffused Arborvitae?By the way, Arborvitae is 10% off all month, so if you don't have this one in your collection yet (or you now realize you'll be using it a lot more often going forward!), add a bottle or two to your order this month.#diffuserblends ...

Have you dealt with any of these issues lately? Then, a cleanse may be what you need. Luckily, dōTERRA makes it super simple with their Cleanse & Restore Kit. It’s a gentle cleanse that only lasts 30 days.If you want more information, check out the recording of our continuing education class this week. Julie walked us through the cleanse as well as a quick overview of easy swaps to help lower our toxic load. These two things go hand in hand - we want to lower our exposure to toxic ingredients to reduce the toll they take on our body, and we want to do a cleanse to support our body's filtering organs and keep them functioning optimally to remove the toxins that do get in. #ignitechange ...

I have another tip for you today, but also a gentle reminder that these tips aren't meant to add more to your "to do" list or leave you feeling overwhelmed or like you can't do it all! Rather, they are meant as gentle reminders of some of the small things we can do to help move us in a positive direction. Don't try to do them all, at least not at the same time! The idea of igniting change is that you can make a small shift in your behavior and that habit will ignite change in other areas, too. As one new behavior becomes a habit, you'll be ready to take on something else. So, just pick one and start there. Remember I started this series with the quote "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." That's the spirit of these posts - just take the next step 🤗Today's Tip: Drink More Water. If you’re terrible at keeping track of your water consumption, try some of these tips. What is your favorite citrus oil to level up the taste of your water? Check out my favorite in the comments! ...

Do you have a weekly planning routine? One habit I'd like to adopt this year is pre-week planning. I've tried it before but never in a committed way, even though I understand the benefits. It's time for me to try again and utilize some of the science of change Steve and I talked about in our continuing education class two weeks ago. How about you? Here is the basic idea: Sometime between the end of your week and the start of the next (for most of us this will be sometime between Friday afternoon and Sunday evening), set aside about 30 minutes to plan the week ahead. Think about your vision and goals and ask yourself what you can do this week to move yourself in the right direction. Then schedule those in your week at a specific day and time. By doing this, you prioritize what matters most. Instead of losing your whole week reacting to what others bring your way, you've made a plan to spend time on the things that matter most to you 🙌#ignitechangeP. S. If you don't know what your vision and goals are, keep reading. Here's a quick rundown of how you can figure that out, too. Don't feel overwhelmed. This is something you will only revisit every year or so (not a daily or weekly habit), but getting clear on these will make a big difference in taking control of your time. After all, if you don't know what your priorities are, it is very hard to schedule them first 🤔 Knowing your vision and goals will help direct your pre-weekly planning sessions so you are more focused and motivated to work toward YOUR goals. To get started:1. Write down your personal vision. Think big initially - what do you want your life to look like in 5, 10, or 20 years? What do you want to improve about your own life, the life of others, or your wider community? What qualities do you admire in others that you'd like to embody yourself? Then take some time to reflect on each of your roles and your vision for yourself in those roles. 1. Now, break it down to what you can do in the next year that will move you in the direction of your vision. Start by identifying SMART goals, i.e., goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. For example, if part of your vision is to "be an inspiring manager who inspires my team to do their best" a SMART goal might be "Attend a leadership seminar by March 31st." Another might be "Make personal contact with each of my team members at least once each week."1. As you sit down each week to do your pre-week planning, read over your vision and your goals for this year. Then figure out which actions you are going to take this week to make progress toward one or more of those goals. ...

Do you happen to be wondering how you can support your immune system?Well, the basics are important:✨Good sleep (quality and quantity)✨Good nutrition✨Plenty of water✨Daily movement✨Reduce stressThen add in some dōTERRA basics:✨LLV✨Terrazyme✨Frankincense✨Copaiba✨Citrus oilall taken internally every day. Of course, you can also incorporate those oils or supplements that help you with the initial basics as well (e.g., oils for sleep, doTERRA Protein, Greens, and fiber for nutrition, etc.).But some days call for even more immune support. Below are the top oils for immune support. In low-risk times, I just use a drop of OnGuard (or even a beadlet) daily for support, or roll on Stronger topically. When threats are higher, I like to make a roller blend (like OnGuard, Arborvitae and Frankincense) and/or take an OnGuard+ softgel daily. And when anyone in the household is sick, this "Mega Immune Support Roller" is like bringing in the big guns and can be used on those already sick as well as those trying to avoid it!How are you supporting a healthy immune system these days?#diyoilrecipes ...

Another way to #IgniteChange is to take a mental break. So often when we are stressed, overwhelmed, or just feel like we don't have time for a break, a break is exactly what we need. Giving yourself small breaks throughout the day can actually increase productivity and your well-being. Walk outside for a couple of minutes, stretch, listen to some music, or pause to set up a lovely diffuser blend. If you are dreaming of a vacation, try a diffuser blend that (almost) transports you there. Try closing your eyes for a few moments and visualizing yourself there - feel it, smell it, taste it. And know you will get there ☺ If I could transport you to your dream vacation spot right now, where would it be? Maybe I can concoct a diffuser blend to simulate the smells! ...
